The 2025 Irish Open is set to be Ireland’s biggest and richest poker festival yet, with an extended schedule adding four extra days. Celebrating its 45th anniversary, the festival will feature exciting new events, including a €1,000,000 guaranteed Mystery Bounty, a fresh High Roller series with four €5,000 buy-in events, and a premier €10,000 buy-in event. Plus, the Main Event will now have a massive €2,500,000 guarantee, and the ever-popular Mini Irish Open will boast a €1,000,000 guarantee.
This marks the third year that PokerStars and Paddy Power will sponsor the festival, giving hundreds of players the opportunity to qualify online. Held at the prestigious Royal Dublin Society venue in Ballsbridge, Dublin, the 12-day festival will run from April 10 to April 21, promising non-stop poker and entertainment.
This year’s Irish Open Main Event made history as Ireland’s largest-ever €1K tournament, with 3,233 entries and record-breaking fields across events, awarding over €7.5 million in prize money.
2025 Festival Highlights
The €1,000,000 guaranteed Mini Irish Open will return, setting a new record for the highest low-stakes tournament guarantee in Irish poker history. With a buy-in of just €250, the event attracted 5,320 entries this year, making it Ireland’s largest poker tournament.
Kicking off the festival, the €1,000,000 guaranteed Mystery Bounty, sponsored by Luxon Pay, will offer four starting flights and is expected to draw a large crowd.
With high turnouts in 2024, several popular events will be extended in 2025, including the Hendon Mob Championship (599 entries), America’s Cup (495 entries), and the NLH 6-Max Championship (385 entries), all of which will now run as two-day events. The Irish Open will also introduce the inaugural Irish Open Deaf Championship.
New mixed games on the schedule include Pot Limit Deuce to 7 Triple Draw, Big O, Open Face Chinese, a two-day H.O.R.S.E event, and a two-day Mixed 8-game tournament, along with additional €1k events, more PLO tournaments, and much more.
Irish Open organizers Paul O’Reilly and JP McCann expressed their excitement: “We’re thrilled to extend the Irish Open by four days next year. Our goal is to make the event memorable for all players both on and off the tables. We’re grateful for our partnership with PokerStars and Paddy Power, who help us deliver a world-class poker experience. With LuxonPay returning as an event and payment partner, we’re looking forward to our most exciting event to date!”
Cedric Billot, Associate Director of Live Events at PokerStars, added, “We’re excited to continue our partnership with the Irish Open, which truly captures the essence of live poker. This year’s energy was incredible, and we look forward to building on that for 2025.”
But it’s not just about the poker—players can also look forward to great “craic.” The legendary “Craic Den” players’ lounge will return, offering live music, games, competitions, and top-notch entertainment every night.
Over 700 players won entry to this year’s Main Event through online qualifiers. Satellites for the 2025 Main Event start on Paddy Power from November 1, 2024, with PokerStars satellites to follow soon.
