Delaware Lottery director Vernon Kirk has confirmed that real-money online gambling will go live in the state on October 31st, making Delaware the first state to offer legal online casino games. New Jersey will follow on November 26th.
Online poker, video poker and online casino games are soon to be legalized in Delaware, while Nevada only offers online poker. Delaware was the first state to pass law regulating a full suite of online gambling in June 2012. Delaware Park, Dover Downs and Harrigton Raceway, which all launched free versions of casino games on Facebook in August, are set to launch branded sites on 888 Holdings’ gaming platform overseen by the Delaware Lottery, which will receive a 43.5 per cent share of revenues on slots and 34 per cent ton table games, poker included. With a population of 900.000, Delaware is willing to knot ties with other states such as Nevada and New Jersey in the middle or long term.
