PokerStars has announced the launch of the PokerStars Live League, a new leaderboard component to its European live events schedule for 2025. As well as awarding more than €150,000 in buy-ins, the top 30 finishers will get the chance to audition to become a PokerStars Team Pro.

PokerStars Live League will allow players who compete in European PokerStars live events to accumulate points across three different leaderboard tiers according to event buy-in, giving them the chance to win more tournament buy-ins to PokerStars tournaments next year. All European Poker Tour and PokerStars Opens are eligible for points on the PokerStars Live League leader board. Restricted entry tournaments such as Seniors’ and Ladies' events are also eligible. In addition to prizes for the top three finishers across each tier of the leaderboard, the top 10 finishers on each tier will get the chance to audition to be a PokerStars Team Pro for a year. The year-long experience will include attendance at, and entry to, some of PokerStars’ most prestigious and popular events including the European Poker Tour stops and series such as SCOOP and WCOOP.

“We’re really excited to bring PokerStars Live League to our player offering,” said Willie Elliot, Live Events Customer Engagement Manager. “Players have the opportunity to compete across a variety of different buy-in levels to win €150,000 in live event tickets, with three winners crowned. Not only that, one winner will become a PokerStars ambassador, winning themselves a one-year deal worth a huge €100,000 - a dream for many poker players. The winner of the PokerStars ambassador role will travel across the globe wearing the iconic patch, attend the best live events in incredible locations, and play for millions in prize money alongside the best players in the world,” he added.

PokerStars’ schedule of live events kicks off in March with the first PokerStars Open event at Casino di Campione in Italy. The event marks PokerStars’ return to live events in the country after a six-year absence. Ex-PokerStars Ambassador Luca Pagano was recently appointed to represent PokerStars as the room’s operator, Casino di Campione, providing oversight and ensuring players receive the best experience on site. After Campione, players will be able to add to their points at the PokerStars-sponsored Irish Poker Open in April, EPT Monte Carlo in May, PokerStars Open Namur, Malaga, Manchester, EPT Barcelona, and PokerStars Open Cannes.

Tracking the leaderboard

Players will be able to follow league updates and track their own - and their rivals’ - progress through the PokerStars Live app which will provide live updates and results across the three tiers. Players will earn leaderboard points whether or not they cash in the tournaments. For players who finish in the money, points will be calculated and awarded using a formula based on Global Poker Index points rankings. Players who bust a tournament without cashing will still receive points equivalent to 20% of the value of min-cash points.

In addition to The PokerStars Live League, PokerStars is introducing the PokerStars Open Passport, a new flexible element to its Gold Passes. This Gold Pass ‘Passport’ bundle allows players to choose up to four Main Event buy-ins on the PokerStars Open tour, making it easier than ever to experience the action across multiple locations. For those looking for more variety, the Gold Pass can also be converted into four Silver Passes, redeemable for a mix of live and online tournaments.
