888Poker and Treasure Islands are expected to receive licenses for online poker, which would allow them to operate under 888Poker brand once technology is approved.
Both companies, which are set to be heard next week by the Nevada Gaming Commission (NGC), received a recommendation from the Nevada Gaming Control Board last week. Treasure Island should receive an operator license while 888 should be granted a service provider license. The two companies entered a partnership, which would see 888’s technology powering an 888Poker site launched using Treasure Island’s license. Under Nevada law, only existing casino licensees can operate an online poker site.
